MSA SUPPORTS NATIONAL MOTORSPORT WEEK 2006
Said Colin Hilton, Chief Executive of the MSA, “Motorsport is one of the UK's greatest success stories. We can boast champions in almost every discipline and our reputation on the world stage is second to none. But domestically we face constant challenges in the development of the sport. We need to recruit fresh blood in terms of volunteers, spectators and participants.
"National Motorsport Week will give the whole sport a perfect opportunity to attract new people to activities the length and breadth of the UK. The MSA will encourage its clubs, venues and events to run initiatives that maximise the benefit of the week. We really hope that everyone will get involved for the greater collective benefit of UK motorsport."

The MIA’s Chris Aylett added, “This is just the start of a nationwide media campaign, at the heart of which will be the MSA clubs. We are delighted to secure the Association’s enthusiastic and generous support for National Motorsport Week which shows how the sport and the industry are working hand in glove on this exciting new initiative.
“UK motorsport business needs a major boost. The industry cannot wait for things to improve by themselves. We have to help stimulate the sport, which will in turn create much-needed new business. National Motorsport Week will help grow the sport and thereby kick-start additional demand for the industry’s products and services.”
This week also saw the unveiling of the official logo for National Motorsport Week by the MIA (see back page): also the dedicated website – www.nationalmotorsportweek.co.uk. This has been generously sponsored by the MIA’s long-standing web partner, MSO.net. The site will rapidly expand to provide up-to-date news of all the events and related initiatives as they are confirmed.
Many companies have already pledged their support for National Motorsport Week, the latest being the international provider of financial and risk services, Alexander Forbes, and Competition Car Insurance – a division of THB Clowes.

NOMINATIONS URGENTLY NEEDED FOR INWARD BUYING MISSION TO AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL 2007
The MIA is calling for nominations of motorsport buyers or key executives from any country in the world to visit the Autosport International Show in January 2007.
Once again the MIA has secured funding from UKT&I to assist in the costs of delivering buyers to the doorsteps of Motorsport Valley® companies. With well over £1 million worth of business promised from this year’s buying mission alone, this is a golden opportunity for the industry to dramatically increase its exports once again.
Now is the time for any UK Motorsport company to nominate their key targets for the 40 valuable places available. The closing date for nominations is June 26. To make a nomination or obtain further details on the 2007 Inward Trade Mission contact Olivia Harper at olivia.harper@the-mia.com or call 02476 692600.
