The HRCR has agreed a sponsorship deal with Richard Egger for its Clubmans Rally Championship; the series for daylight road rallies catering for pre '82 cars.

To be known as the Richard Egger Projects HRCR Clubmans Rally Championship, the championship is a popular element of the HRCR's competitive programme and offers a spread of daylight rallies where the emphasis is on regularity sections and special tests.

Richard is a perfect partner for the series, as along with his wife Pat, he has competed extensively on a wide range of events, both in modern and classic cars. He is also heavily involved in the organisation of events, as well as encouraging and supporting young drivers making a start in the sport.

Richard Egger is busy working on a new project, which will launch on 1 January 2008.

"We're very pleased to have someone of Richard's standing in the sport as a sponsor for one of our most popular championships," said Tony Barron, General Secretary of the HRCR. "His involvement can only bring benefit to the Clubmans Championship for 2008 and beyond."

The nine round Richard Egger Projects HRCR Clubmans Rally Championship will start with the Tour of Cheshire on 8 March 2008.
