Jenkins and Brooks win HRCR Night Rally title
Chris Jenkins and Tony Brooks have been confirmed as winners of the 2006 HRCR Night Rally Championship. Second place on the recent Welsh Retro, the final event of the season, was enough to clinch the title for Jenkins' 1275 Mini.
Competition was very close throughout the year, with three drivers still in the battle for the overall title right up until the last round. The ten-round series, organised by the Historic Rally Car Register, included seven different winners.
In the drivers' championship, Keith Jenkins was runner-up in his Saab 96, ahead of Andy Lane (Ford Escort Mexico). Meanwhile, Iain Tullie was runner-up navigator, from Susan McClean.
Details of the 2007 HRCR Night Rally Championship, supported by Maxsport Tyres are now available. For information on the championship for HRCR members in pre-81 cars visit: www.hrcr.co.uk or contact the series co-ordinator Stan Appleton on 01423 712436.
