Rally-Driver.com: Hernaman and Crowther win HRCR Clubmans Rally title Hernaman and Crowther win HRCR Clubmans Rally title ================================================================================ Elton on 16 January, 2007 12:00:00 Paul Hernaman and Ray 'Crow' Crowther have been confirmed as winners of the 2006 HRCR Clubmans Rally Championship, after an exemplary campaign in their Porsche 911. The championship, organised by the Historic Rally Car Register, covered nine daylights events, with a mix of special tests and regularity sections to keep both crew members busy. The championship attracted more than 100 registered contenders and that total could be exceeded in 2007 when the championship calendar will grow to ten events. "It was a case of all the lessons we have learned coming together," says Hernaman. "We've got to know the event formats and one of the best things about the championship is regardless of where you finish, there is always a friendly bunch of people competing on the events." Hernaman had a trouble free season in his Tuthill tended Porsche and reckons that the special tests on Sculthorpe airfield during the East Anglian Classic was one of the highlights of the season. "They were definitely Porsche tests," he says. His 911 will be on show at the HRCR Open Day at Gaydon on Saturday 13 January. It was a special year for the Hernaman family, as Paul's elder brother Robin was the winning co-driver of the ANCRO MSA National Gravel Rally Championship alongside Craig Middleton. The competition for the navigators’ title went to the wire, and it was Mike Burrows who took the place after a season-long challenge. Linda Orme was runner-up among the drivers, while Newcomers' Challenge winners were James Griffiths and David Killeen.
