HRCR to feature at major rally shows
At Castle Combe, the HRCR's Bristol and Bath Centre has pulled together a fabulous display of 10 cars, including at least three ex-works cars and three leading cars from the Dunlop/Gambia MSA British Historic Rally Championship.
The display will include the ex-works 1972 East African Safari Triumph 2500PI, driven in that event by Brian Culceth and Lofty Drews, and the ex-works 1970 World Cup Rally Triumph 2500PI of Andrew Cowan. In addition, the last works Mini, the 1970 Group 6 Clubman built for Paddy Hopkirk to drive in the Portuguese Sherry Rally, will be on display.
From the BHRC will come the championship-leading Escort Mk1 of David Stokes and another Escort from the Hydegate Rallyesport team, along with the category 1 Porsche 911 of Dave Foster.
The display will also feature an Alpine Renault A110, a Lotus Cortina MK1, an ex-works Group 2 Triumph Dolomite Sprint and the Lotus Sunbeam of Simon Marks.
Meanwhile, a week later the HRCR will also be on show at the new event at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire.
Visitors to either event are invited to visit the HRCR stands to find out more about one of the most active clubs in British classic rallying.
