Ask many what the best rally car was during the 1970’s and you can bet most would reply a Ford Escort, but that does more than a disservice to the Fiat 131 Abarth which dominated countless events during its six year tenure as Fiat’s top flight rally car. It may not have had the audacious looks of the Stratos or 037, but its 230bhp engine proved more than a match for the BDA powered Escorts bringing numerous wins for the Fiat works drivers.

This stunning diecast model depicts Antonio Zanini’s 1979 Rally Costa Brava Winning Fiat 131 Abarth in its distinctive black and yellow livery.

The model features working steering, suspension, wheels, bonnet, boot and doors and boasts an impressively detailed engine bay.

Made by Kyosho, the model is 1:18 scale and measures approximately 24cm long.

A piece of rallying history, priced £69.99 at the time of publishing.
